Early Years Unit

In some ways the early years at school are the most important. They can start to shape and define who we are and who we will grow to be. That is why at Nields Academy, we like to give children a safe and inspiring space to show them how enjoyable school life can be.

Children develop an early sense of self in a safe, friendly place that gives them the space to express themselves for the very first time.

The EYFS encompasses those children aged 3 to 5 years in Nursery and Reception Classes. We are a one form intake, ensuring consistently high teaching standards and a happy continuity as pupils progress through to our School.

Our Early Years Team consists of a qualified Early Years Teacher and Early Years Professionals who oversee the smooth transition from home to school and then on to Key Stage 1.

Our Nursery and Reception Classes are not only a happy place for our very youngest pupils, but welcoming for families too.

Update re Nields Academy Nursery Provision

The local governing body (LGB) of Nields Academy are considering the viability of our nursery provision and potentially change the school age from a 3-11 age range (which it currently is) to 4-11 i.e. to close the nursery. A consultation to gather feedback and perspectives from all stakeholders and interested parties, such as parents, staff and the local community is now open and will end on 24th May 2024. Please read the following letter for more details and how to give your views:
